Hi there!
I’m daniela
My mission is to help people with gut issues find long lasting relief from bloating, abdominal pain and unpredictable bowel habits, so they can get their lives back!
My Story + Approach
Nine years ago I was diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). I was struggling with abdominal pain, bloating, unpredictable bowels and urgency. My doctor simply told me to take anti-spasmodic medication and to follow a healthy diet.
As a student dietitian my diet was fairly healthy, including lots of fruit, vegetables and pulses. However, eating more fruit and vegetables only made my symptoms worse. I experienced diarrhoea and urgency every day. I became more and more confused about what to eat and felt increasingly more anxious about going out. I felt alone and isolated as I felt too embarrassed to talk about my symptoms.
Eventually through my university training and countless hours of research I was able to find relief from my symptoms. I identified my triggers and slowly worked on improving my gut health. This had a huge impact on my quality of life allowing me to do the things I loved again like eating out without fear, go hiking, and travel without worrying where the nearest toilet is.
Now I want to help you to get on top of your gut symptoms!
My own experience with IBS is what spured me to specialise as an IBS dietitian. I have over 6 years of experience seeing clients in GP practices, health centres and hospital outpatient clinics. Over the past two years, I have also led the low FODMAP service in the community in my NHS role and have helped multiple clients find relief from gut symptoms. I recently launched my virtual private practice to be able help more people across the UK and Europe.
I work closely with all my clients to help develop a step by step plan tailored to their symptoms, lifestyle, cultural beliefs and the latest evidence. Through this method I have helped hundreds find relief from gut symptoms. I am incredibly excited to work with you!
